ECC of the Cabinet approves Duty free import of Black Cabs the only purpose built taxi from U.K.

The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet in its meeting held today considered the request of Prime Transport Limited, which envisages assembly/manufacture of the famous Black Cabs of U.K., in Pakistan and to operate them as Satellite Controlled Taxis Service in all major cities of Pakistan.  In order to facilitate commencement of trial runs the ECC graciously allowed duty free import of first batch of 300 vehicles in CBU form duty free.

ALL PERMISSIONS GRANTED "BLACK CABS TO
START OPERATIONS IN JULY”

The project of Prime Transport Limited which aims at assembly/manufacture of Black Cabs of U.K., in Pakistan and operations thereof in all major cities as Satellite Controlled Taxi Service was considered at the high level meeting on President’s Special Initiatives on Investment, which was jointly chaired by the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on May 10th. All concerned Ministries/Departments were directed to finalize the permissions and sanctions required and to remove the impediments within maximum period of 10 days for implementation of the project.

The Government of Sindh allocated land to Prime Transport Limited f

A meeting was held on 7th April, 2006 at Chief Minister House, which was presided over by the Chief Minister Sindh,  Mr. Umer Ahmed Ghuman Minister of State for Privatization, Investment and Special Initiatives was also present in the meeting besides officers of Land Utilization Department and the Directors of Prime Transport Limited.

Transport company unveils plan to manufacture taxis

Prime Transport Limited (PTL), Karachi, plans to manufacture 6000 purpose-built taxis annually that would have UK technology installed. The plan was unveiled and presented to Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad by PTL Chief Executive Muhammad Dawood Khan at the Governor House on Wednesday.

PTL RECEIVES DELEGATION OF SINGAPORE TECHNOLOGIES (INFO-COMM SYSTEMS) PTE. LTD.

PTL received a delegation of Singapore Technologies (Info-Comm Systems) Pte. Ltd., comprising of Mr. Leong Fook Lim, Director, International Business and Mr. Brain Tong, Business Manager.  They visited the office of Prime Transport Limited from 21st to 24th November, 2005. During the meetings the delegates gave a detailed presentation of the proposed equipments to be installed in the Taxis to be operated by Prime Transport.
